Around 150 school children staged Sunday a walkathon against corruption at the University of the Philippines (UP) campus in Diliman, Quezon City, and called for President Arroyo to step down.
Along with their parents and guardians, the children used a slipper-like, native toy called "kadang-kadang" which they used to chase a look-a-like of President Arroyo.
Organizers of the event said the noise of the "kadang-kadang" will help drive out the "thief in MalacaƱang." The toy is made from coconut shells connected to a piece of rope.
They added that at a young age, the children also have a right to defend the interests of the country.
Sunday’s event in the UP grounds ended with a short program.
